Island living offers just about everything that one could possibly ask for: beautiful surroundings and a small town feel, all within close proximity to the countless amenities of downtown Savannah. The one thing that we noticed that the islands were missing was convenient access to high-quality mental healthcare providers. We decided to remedy that by opening our newest location on Wilmington Island, which is centrally located to Tybee Island, Whitemarsh Island, and Talahi Island.

Waters Edge Counseling was originally opened in 2014 in downtown Savannah, by practice owner Whitney Owens, when she and her family relocated to the area.

From its humble beginnings as a small, one clinician practice, Waters Edge Counseling has grown into a three-location practice, with a total of 17 clinicians, looking to serve the needs of all individuals in the Coastal Georgia area as a place to rest, risk and be restored.

Our Wilmington Island location at 6703 Johnny Mercer Boulevard is our latest addition to the Waters Edge Counseling practice, having just undergone a full building renovation throughout 2024 and opening up to serve clients in 2025.

Nestled among the beautiful and peaceful surroundings of marshes and mossy oaks that line the boulevard, and only a short drive to the beautiful beaches of Tybee Island, we truly live up to our name of Waters Edge.

We have a voicemail, as well as options to make online inquiries and appointment requests, set up for outside of normal business hours, where you can leave a message with your name and number and we will contact you the following business day.

Directions To Our Office

The Wilmington Island office, located at 6703 Johnny Mercer Boulevard, is conveniently accessible through downtown via President Street and Islands Expressway to Highway 80 East, where you can exit directly onto Johnny Mercer Boulevard on the right.

For those traveling to our Wilmington Island office from neighboring cities (Bloomingdale, Pooler, Richmond Hill, Rincon, etc.), I-16 will take you directly into downtown Savannah to access this location via Victory Drive to Highway 80 East and allow you to exit right onto Johnny Mercer Boulevard.

From Tybee Island, you can access Johnny Mercer Boulevard on your left as soon as you get off of the bridge.

From Thunderbolt, Whitemarsh and other surrounding islands, you can access Johnny Mercer Boulevard directly on your right from Highway 80 East.
