Hello, I’m Ann Lamar Jefcoat
I believe every person has a story worth telling and is capable of wholehearted living. My desire as a counselor is to create a space where you feel genuinely seen, known, and heard. Healing often begins when we are met with compassion, curiosity, and the safety to be our authentic selves. I consider it a privilege to walk alongside clients as they navigate life’s challenges and move toward healing, hope, and lasting growth.
I earned my Bachelor of Arts from Mississippi College and my Master of Arts in Counseling from Reformed Theological Seminary. My work is grounded in a person-centered, trauma-informed approach that honors each client’s unique experiences, strengths, and goals. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and have experience working with individuals, couples, and groups. I am also a licensed yoga instructor and enjoy integrating somatic approaches into the healing process.
I work with adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, shame, grief, chronic stress, life transitions, relationship challenges, career decisions, and low self worth. I also enjoy helping couples strengthen communication, deepen emotional connection, and navigate conflict with greater understanding and compassion. I have a special passion for supporting individuals living with autoimmune disorders, chronic illness, and medical trauma, recognizing that these experiences can bring grief, identity shifts, strained relationships, and uncertainty about the future.
Whether you are carrying the weight of painful experiences, struggling with overwhelming emotions, or simply feeling stuck, I believe healing is possible. My hope is that our work together is marked by authenticity, compassion, and hope, and that my office is a place where you feel safe enough to be honest, supported enough to grow, and reminded that you do not have to carry life’s burdens alone.
Ann Lamar is currently accepting new clients at Waters Edge Counseling.
