Hello, my name is Robyn Young
Robyn Young is a Licensed Master Social Worker who brings more than 20 years of experience supporting individuals and families through some of life’s most challenging seasons. With a background spanning healthcare, hospice, dementia care, chronic illness, grief and bereavement, and major life transitions, Robyn offers a compassionate and experienced perspective to the counseling relationship.
Robyn believes that people deserve to feel heard, understood, and supported as they navigate both emotional and practical challenges. She takes a person-centered approach to counseling, building trusting relationships and creating a space where clients can explore difficult experiences without judgment. Her experience working alongside individuals, couples, families, and healthcare professionals has given her a deep understanding of the ways emotional, relational, physical, and social well-being intersect.
Robyn has a particular interest in working with couples, older adults, caregivers, and individuals navigating medical concerns, chronic illness, grief, and significant life transitions. She is also a Certified Dementia Practitioner, bringing specialized knowledge and experience to individuals and families impacted by dementia and cognitive changes.
For couples, Robyn provides a supportive space to work through communication challenges, relationship transitions, caregiving stress, grief, and other circumstances that can place strain on a relationship. She believes meaningful connection can be strengthened even during life’s most difficult seasons.
Robyn works with older teens and adults and does not see children under age 15. She is currently seeing clients at our Wilmington Island location.
Robyn earned her Master of Social Work from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, and her Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh. She is a Licensed Master Social Worker in Georgia and a Certified Dementia Practitioner.
