Hello, I’m Lydia Brekke
I am passionate about bringing an empathetic and client-centered approach to every interaction, while creating a safe, affirming space for healing. My background includes working with individuals struggling with eating disorders, where I developed a strong foundation in body image work, emotional regulation, and helping clients reconnect with their inner strength. I’m especially drawn to working with children and young adults, whose resilience and openness inspire me daily. I believe that early intervention and compassionate guidance make a lasting impact.
I graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota with my Bachelor’s in General Psychology. I’m currently pursuing my Master of Science in Social Work at the University of Tennessee, where I’ve been deepening my understanding of trauma-informed care, clinical practice, and advocacy. I relocated from Minnesota to Savannah in 2022. I’m thrilled to be an intern at Water’s Edge and continue my education while under the supervision of these dedicated professionals who will help me grow into a grounded and supportive therapist.
