Position Available:

Graduate Level Intern

Water’s Edge Counseling of Savannah is searching for a skilled and competent graduate level intern who requires a clinical practicum experience in either clinical counseling or clinical social work. Water’s Edge Counseling is committed to providing exceptional mentoring and clinical training for counseling and social work students. Our practice will work collaboratively with each student’s academic institution and follow the academic guidelines required for the practicum/field placement experience. The practicum experience will be unpaid, as this training is a required part of a graduate student’s training to become a clinical therapist or clinical social worker. 

Graduate level interns are not considered to be fully functioning clinicians in the practice, but to use the setting to improve clinical practice and to meet field placement/practicum requirements for an advanced degree from universities who have an accreditation by CACREP (Counseling) or CSWE (Social Work). Graduate student interns will be able to perform the following duties to fulfill the requirements for each academic program:

  • Conduct clinical counseling sessions under the supervision of a lead clinician, either LCSW or LPC with CPCS designation.
  • Observe clinical sessions from other clinicians to learn clinical skills.
  • Participate in weekly clinical supervision as required by the academic program.
  • Develop the ability to use an electronic health record (EHR) and demonstrate competence in clinical charting.
  • Interact with Operations Director and Clinical Director to address new client inquiries and schedule therapy sessions.
  • Participate in bi-weekly staff meetings.
  • Attend regular educational and continuing educational training sessions.
  • Participate in community educational and speaking engagements for Waters Edge Counseling.
  • Attend meetings with Academic Field Faculty Liaisons as required by the graduate program

Position Available:

Part-Time Therapist

Water’s Edge Counseling of Savannah is in search of a skilled and compassionate clinician to join a growing private practice. The ideal therapist will work 3-4 days per week seeing 10-25 clients per week. Preferred experience working with couples, families, and/or children.

Becoming a therapist at Water’s Edge Counseling means being on a team of effective therapists that treat one another like family. You will have the independence to work with your ideal clients while having the support of a clinical team. In addition, the administrative staff takes care of all the marketing and scheduling so that you can do the stuff you love, assisting clients on their healing journey.

This position offers opportunities for growth alongside a motivated, experienced, and wonderful group of clinicians. This position for in-person work, with minimal virtual work from home.

BENEFITS: W2 position, Health Insurance, retirement matching up to 3%, paid time off, continuing education credit per year, peer support, regular staff meetings, clinical supervision, flexible schedule, administrative support, caseload of clients, and fun staff events such as fundraiser dinners and parties.

QUALIFICATIONS: Successful completion of master’s or doctorate degree in social work, psychology, marriage and family therapy, professional counseling, or related degree is desired. The candidate must be fully licensed or pursing licensure in the state of Georgia.

JOB TYPE: Employee position. Part-time. If you desire a full-time position we can work up to that if your caseload is at least 25 clients per week.

PAY: $40.00 – $50.00 per hour with additional opportunities for extra pay such as administrative pay and bonuses.
